Content Creation

  • The Impression Content Creation Tool is our premier application for developing Impression content. Download the current release of the Content Creation Tool. The current version is CCT 3.20 build 1285 update 2, released 27 February 2024. The CCT release history is available for review here.

    This release removes the requirement for the Adobe Flash ActiveX component to be installed on the user’s machine.

  • The Seven Wonders sample database is available for download. Extract the files to a folder on your computer, then use the CCT to open the database. The HTML5/Javascript-based Seven Wonders sample lesson can also be viewed online, or downloaded as a SCORM 2004 3rd Edition SCO.

Utilities

  • The Impression Packager is a standalone utility that provides enhanced capabilities for packaging Impression content, including multiple packaging settings, generating package .ZIP files, creating multi-lesson/multi-SCO packages that support SCORM Simple Sequencing, and more.

    Download the Impression Packager (password required). The current version was released on 7 September 2017. The Packager documentation is available for review here.

    A sample database for the packager that shows how you can use the tool to help build a simple lesson launcher for customer previews is available for download here.

  • The htmlHost application combines htmlHost combines an instance of the Internet Explorer rendering engine with a localhost web server to allow for testing and review of web pages and applications without moving the files to a dedicated web server. htmlHost can serve files either directly from the filesystem or from a ZIP-format archive. htmlHost is most commonly used as a previewing application for Impression content.

    Download htmlHost. The current version is htmlHost version 5.0 build 0779, released 13 May 2019. View the htmlHost documentation by running it without a default web page. Hold down the <SHIFT> key while starting to bypass default page loading if necessary.

  • The Impression Data Utilities package includes scripts for initializing or upgrading Impression content databases using Microsoft SQL Server, and the Content Database Copier for quickly transferring Impression content between databases, including SQL Server to Access .MDB and back.

    Download the Impression Data Utilities package. The current version was released on 30 June 2016.

  • The Impression Content Utilities package includes supporting materials for content development and packaging, including the CCT Report Editor, the Stepped Animation viewer, SCORM manifest templates, and more.

  • The Impression Talk package includes Talk, an Impression Connect-based tool for sharing and tracking information during production.

    Download the Impression Talk package (password required). The current version was released on 4 February 2019.

Developer Tools

  • The HTML5/Javascript Runtime Engine Developer's Kit includes the materials you need to begin developing runtime engines using HTML5 and Javascript.

    Download the current release of the HTML/JS RTE DevKit (password required). The current version was released on 27 February 2024.

    The last release of the 1.0.x HTML/JS RTE is also available for download (password required). This version (1.0.10) was released on 12 January 2019.

  • The Impression Connect Software Development Kit provides the tools needed to interface with Impression Connect, our environment for expanding the CCT's capabilities via custom HTML or .Net applications.

    Download the current release of the Connect SDK (password required). The current version was released on 7 September 2017.

  • The C# Simulation Runtime Developer's Kit includes the materials you need to begin developing simulation runtime engines using C#-hosting environments, including Mono-based environments like Unity3D.

    Download the current release of the C# Sim DevKit (password required). The current version was released on 28 January 2015.

  • The last version of the CCT to require the Adobe Flash ActiveX component, version 3.12 build 1267 released 21 March 2019, is available for download here

  • The ActionScript 3 Runtime Engine Developer's Kit includes the materials you need to begin developing runtime engines using Adobe Flash ActionScript 3.

    Download the current release of the AS3 RTE DevKit (password required). The current version was released on 26 February 2015. The AS3 DevKit release history is available for review here. As of 12 August 2019, the AS3 DevKit is deprecated; no further development will occur.

    Download the current release of the AS2 RTE DevKit (password required). The current version was released on 1 February 2012. As of 1 February 2012, the AS2 DevKit is deprecated; no further development will occur.

  • The New Demo sample database is available for download. Extract the files to a folder on your computer, then use the CCT to open the database. The ActionScript 3-based New Demo sample lesson can also be viewed online, or downloaded as a SCORM 2004 3rd Edition SCO.
  • The AS3 MyShell sample database is available for download. Extract the files to a folder on your computer, then use the CCT to open the database. The ActionScript 3-based MyShell sample lesson can also be viewed online.
